London Trans+ Pride: Justice and Liberation
Words: Eerie Rose Photography: Rae Tait
On Saturday, more than 55,000 people took to the streets to both celebrate London Trans+ Pride, and also march to protest for justice and liberation. The biggest LT+P yet saw people from all walks of life joining in both joy and solidarity to walk through central London, despite the threat of a fascist march taking place just a few tube stops over. In a time so increasingly violent, with transphobia at an all time high in the media and government and the community reeling from recurrent losses of their friends and family from too-long waiting lists or inadequate mental health support, 55,000 people came together to demonstrate the beauty of being Trans+, and show that no matter what, they’re not going anywhere. Photographer Rae Tait captured the day for 5.18.
